This Ritz Chicken is a quick and easy kid-friendly dinner that the whole family will love. A fun way to change up your chicken fingers.
This Ritz chicken is a fan favorite at our house. It’s one of those meals that I can make and know that all three kids, along with my husband, will enjoy!
Since it really only requires a few simple ingredients, which I almost always have on hand, it’s one of my go-to dinners when I don’t know what to make. These Turkey and Cheese roll-ups are another one.
How To Make Ritz Chicken Step-By-Step
This chicken is so easy it almost doesn’t require a recipe. Here’s how you make it:
- Crush up a sleeve of Ritz crackers in a large Ziploc bag.
- Place some flour in a bowl and whisk an egg into another bowl.
- Dip the chicken tenders in flour, then egg and then place a few at a time in the Ziploc bag.
- Shake the bag to coat the chicken, then place on a baking sheet – I like to put a cooling rack on my baking sheet to allow air to flow underneath the chicken while cooking….just be sure to spray the cooling rack to avoid sticking.
- Bake and enjoy!
- If you want to try an alternate method, skip the flour and egg and dip the chicken in sour cream first and then coat in the cracker crumbs. This is a great way to keep the chicken moist!

Ritz Chicken FAQs
What if I don’t have Ritz crackers?
My kids think the Ritz crackers really make or break the chicken tenders. They like them more than any other coating. But you can make homemade chicken tenders with a wide variety of coatings. If you don’t have Ritz, try crushed potato chips, crushed pretzels, Panko bread crumbs, or use one of your other favorite crackers!
Can I use chicken breasts?
Yes! You don’t need to use chicken tenders. Whole chicken breasts are fine, so are drumsticks. You could even cut chicken breasts into nugget-sized pieces.
Can I make Ritz chicken ahead of time?
Unfortunately, this is one of those recipes that’s best made right before you eat it. Making it ahead of time can lead to soggy crackers. Leftovers also aren’t the best so I usually just make what my kids can eat in one serving. They still taste good but the leftover crumb coating will be soggy instead of crunchy.
What to serve with Ritz chicken?
This pairs well with any of your favorite side dishes! Steamed or roasted veggies or a side salad and some fruit make a well-balanced meal. Or serve over some rice or with a side of chips and guacamole.
Or try it with Green Bean Fries, Maple Bacon Roasted Carrots or Confetti Cauliflower Rice.
