how to make egg wraps - high protein snack

I’ve been making these egg wraps during my food prep sessions for almost 8 years now. They’re simple to make, high in protein and the perfect vehicle for carrying your favorite fillings like cheese, avocado, turkey, pepperoni and more!

If you don’t mind eating them cold, you can make a big batch and eat them straight out of the fridge. But you can also reheat them in the microwave if you want.

How to Make Easy Egg Wraps

There’s only one ingredient needed to make an egg wrap – an egg! This is basically just an egg cooked in a very thin layer so it resembles a tortilla. Cook it for about 30 seconds on each side and then throw in whatever fillings you want.

Here’s how you do it:

  • Crack in egg into a bowl and whisk it up.
  • Butter a pan.
  • Pour the egg into the pan, tilting the pan back and forth so the egg spreads out into a circle.
  • Cook for 30 seconds, then flip and cook 30 seconds more.

You can make just one for a quick snack or make several in a row!

Watch my six-year-old make some egg wraps. Flipping them can be a bit tricky so kids might need help as they practice their flipping skills. Make sure they’re fully cooked on one side before trying to flip because that makes it easier.

Yes! They’re just another way to eat eggs. Turning them into a wrap allows you to pair them with other healthy ingredients in a new and different way, making it fun to eat while also providing protein, healthy fats and other nutrients!

Are egg wraps healthier than tortillas?

They’re not better, they’re different! Whole wheat tortillas can be a great source of protein and fiber and most people have no reason to avoid them.
