This easy homemade granola is nut-free and kid-friendly! Made with just a few simple ingredients, it’s the perfect topping for yogurt or smoothie bowls or as an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for sweeter granola you can increase up to 1/2 cup)
  • 1/4 cup oil (we use avocado oil)
  • 12 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup hemp seeds (or mix of hemp, chia and flax)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds (optional)
  • 1 egg white
  • Optional mix-ins: chocolate chips, dried fruit like raisins, craisins or chopped dates etc

Instructions

  1. Place oats in a large bowl.
  2. Mix together oil and maple syrup, pour over oats and stir well.
  3. Add cinnamon, hemp seeds (and any other seeds you’re using) and stir.
  4. Whisk egg white until slightly frothy, pour over oats and stir gently to coat.
  5. Spread onto a parchment-lined baking sheet – make sure the granola isn’t too spread out. You want it to be touching so it sticks together to make clumps.
  6. Bake at 300 degrees for 35 minutes. Do not stir.
  7. Let cool completely, break into chunks and add chocolate chips and dried fruit.

Notes

Feel free to add a cup of chopped nuts or pumpkin seeds to the mixture if you want.

You can also add 1 tsp vanilla extract for even more flavor!
