Learn how to make homemade applesauce in the instant pot or on the stove. Add cinnamon for flavor or try mixing apples and strawberries or using this method for pears.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 78 large apples, cored
  • 1/2 cup water
  • cinnamon, optional

Instructions

  1. Remove cores and place large chunks of apple in the instant pot.
  2. Add water and cinnamon.
  3. Cook for 10 minutes and let the pressure release naturally.
  4. Ladle apples into a blender and blend until smooth. Add cooking liquid to thin to the desired consistency.
  5. Cool and eat.
  6. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

To cook on the stove, bring water and apples to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer. Let simmer 20-25 minutes, then blend.

You can also do this with pears or add berries to your apples for a combination fruit sauce!
