Learn how to make popcorn in the microwave using a paper lunch sack. This method is so each kids can do it all by themselves to enjoy a healthy, fiber-filled snack!

My kids love having popcorn for family movie night and this is a super easy way to make it! All you need is a brown paper lunch sack. Once they learn how to make it, you can put them in charge of movie night popcorn or let them make a bag of healthy microwave popcorn for an afternoon snack!

How To Make Popcorn in the Microwave step by step

To make popcorn in the microwave, all you need is a brown paper lunch sack and some popcorn kernels. Here’s how you do it:

  • Measure out 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels and pour them into the paper bag.
  • Fold the top of the bag down 2-3 times.
  • Place the bag in the microwave and press the popcorn button.
  • Popcorn is done when it stops popping continuously and slows to about 2 seconds between pops.
  • Pour popcorn into a bowl and spray with oil or drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with salt if desired.
